The Different Breeds of Bread!
One of the joys of Indian food is the different varieties of flatbread that are served as an accompaniment. Here is a brief run down on some of the more popular ones:
•Chapati – an unleavened flatbread, also known as roti.
•Naan or Nan – oven baked leavened flatbread.
•Papdum – thin and crisp, made from fried, seasoned dough.
•Paratha – pan fried unleavened flatbread that is crispy and flaky.
•Poori – pan fried unleavened flatbread.
The most substantial of these are the Nan breads, so much so that they are often used as an accompaniment instead of the more traditional rice.
Baburchi Cuisine offers a wonderful selection of Nan breads for you to try. We have the ever popular plain Nan, together with Garlic and Keema types. In addition to these we produce Cheese Nan and Garlic and Cheese Nan.
However, we also offer three specialities:
1.Dil Dil Nan – a tasty special made with spinach, potato, coriander and chilli.
2.Moglay Nan – a small feast of minced lamb with chillies, garlic, coriander and cheese.
3.Peshwari Nan – an unusually tasty combination of coconut, mango and almond.
